Run .exe on a Webpage using Firefox
As I have showed in my earlier post How to run .exe on a Webpage but that code runs only on Internet Explorer. Here after the demand of my readers I am going to show you how can you achieve this task through Firefox browser.

In the above code you can clearly see that in "href" attribute I am calling a user-defined function LaunchApp() and functionality of this function is shown as follows:
In the above code you can see the use of JavaScript privileges API. You can add one line of code asking permission to enable a privilege that can allow your script to access your target.
In Mozilla Firefox there are certain privileges that are associated with specific targets, In our code we are using "UniversalXPConnect" privilege to give Unrestricted access to browser APIs using XPConnect. After assigning privileges just running your local .EXE file by using Mozilla Firefox built in classes. That's it just use above code and do let me know your experience about it through comments.

In the above JavaScript a LaunchApp() is defined which will first check for the browser if your browser is not internet explorer then it will show you message that your browser doesn’t support the ActiveXObject and only available for InternetExplorer,If it is InternetExplorer then it will create object for WScript.Shell and will execute yourfile.exe in the D:\software location.

Entertainment, games and lot more – GOOGLE will bring this to you with GOOGLE Glasses.
Later this year, Google is expected to start selling eyeglasses that will project information, entertainment and, this being a Google product, advertisements onto the lenses.
The glasses are not being designed to be worn constantly — although Google engineers expect some users will wear them a lot — but will be more like smartphones, used when needed, with the lenses serving as a kind of see-through computer monitor.
The glasses will use the same Android software that powers Android smartphones and tablets. Like smartphones and tablets, the glasses will be equipped with GPS and motion sensors. They will also contain a camera and audio inputs and outputs.
the location information was a major feature of the glasses. Through the built-in camera on the glasses, Google will be able to stream images to its rack computers and return augmented reality information to the person wearing them. For instance, a person looking at a landmark could see detailed historical information and comments about it left by friends. If facial recognition software becomes accurate enough, the glasses could remind a wearer of when and how he met the vaguely familiar person standing in front of him at a party.
They might also be used for virtual reality games that use the real world as the playground.
When someone is meeting a person for the first time, for example, Google could hypothetically match the person’s face and tell people how many friends they share in common on social networks.

How to Access MySQL Remotely
In the enterprise environment you may want to access your MySQL database remotely through ant MySQL client, that client may be SQLYog,MYSQL WAVE or any other client tool.
Well for this you have to assign your IP and the user certain permission for accessing the MySQL server through remote client.Following is the procedure to assign IP and permissions.
Step 1:
Login your MySQL command shell through root user
Step 2:
Once you have logged in run following command:
grant all on *.* to abc@’xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx’ identified by ’123′;
In the above command you can easily understand that a user “abc” is bind to the IP “xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx” having password “123″ has been granted all permissions to all databases and their objects.
In “*.* ” the first * is used for database and the next * is used for objects of the database like Tables,Views e.t.c and *.* means all databases and their objects.

1. Father of the Java programming language
James Gosling, generally credited as the inventor of the Java programming language in 1994. He created the original design of Java and implemented its original compiler and virtual machine. For this achievement he was elected to the United States National Academy of Engineering.
On April 2, 2010, he left Sun Microsystems which had recently been acquired by the Oracle Corporation. Regarding why he left, Gosling wrote on his blog that “Just about anything I could say that would be accurate and honest would do more harm than good.”
2. Hibernate Founder
Gavin King, is the founder of the Hibernate project, a popular object/relational persistence solution for Java, and the creator of Seam, an application framework for Java EE 5. Furthermore, he contributed heavily to the design of EJB 3.0 and JPA.

Rod Johnson, is the founder of the Spring Framework, an open source application framework for Java, Creator of Spring, CEO at SpringSource. Furthermore, Rod’s best-selling Expert One-on-One J2EE Design and Development (2002) was one of the most influential books ever published on J2EE

4. Struts Founder
Craig Mcclanahan, creator of Struts, a popular open source MVC framework for building Java-based web applications, which is arguably that every Java developer know how to code Struts. With the huge success of Struts in early day, it’s widely implemented in every single of the old Java web application project.
He was part of the expert group that defined the servlet 2.2, 2.3 and JSP 1.1, 1.2 specifications. He is also the architect of Tomcat's servlet container Catalina.
5. JBoss Founder
Marc Fleury, who founded JBoss in 2001, an open-source Java application server, arguably the de facto standard for deploying Java-based Web applications. Later he sold the JBoss to RedHat, and joined RedHat to continue support on the JBoss development.
After selling his company to Red Hat, Fleury became Senior Vice President and General Manager of the JBoss Division.
On 9 February 2007, he decided to leave Red Hat to pursue other personal interests, such as teaching, research in biology, music and his family
In 2008 Fleury started a new open source project called OpenRemote, to build Home Automation Systems.
In 2010 Fleury started producing electronic music with the label Acid All Stars.
6. Java Collections Framework
Joshua Bloch, led the design and implementation of numerous Java platform features, including JDK 5.0 language enhancements and the award-winning Java Collections Framework.
In June 2004 he left Sun and became Chief Java Architect at Google. Furthermore, he won the prestigious Jolt Award from Software Development Magazine for his book, “Effective Java”, which is arguably a must read Java’s book.
He is the alma mater of Coolumbia University and Carnegie Mellong University
7. Test Driven Development & JUnit Founder
Kent Beck, creator of the Extreme Programming and Test Driven Development software development methodologies. Furthermore, he and Erich Gamma created JUnit, a simple testing framework, which turn into the de facto standard for testing Java-based Web applications.
The combination of JUnit and Test Driven Development makes a big changed on the way of coding Java, which causes many Java developers are not willing to follow it.

8. Tomcat & Ant Founder
James Duncan Davidson, while he was software engineer at Sun Microsystems (1997–2001), created Tomcat Java-based web server, still widely use in most of the Java web projects, and also Ant build tool, which uses XML to describe the build process and its dependencies, which is still the de facto standard for building Java-based Web applications.

Great demise to IT World: Steve Jobs is no more
Have you ever been thrown out from your home or office or class? There is a person who was thrown out from his own company, once who was the CEO and founder of that company? If it would happen with us we would lose the control and would give up.
But this person started another company and that also reached at zenith within no time. And previous company was losing its charm. He was called back as CEO and again that company because the starrer in IT field whether it’s O.S. or animation or mobile phones or tablets.
Yes , you guessed it right (I know I am exaggerating: P), he is none other than Steve Jobs who just died today (5th October, 2011 morning IST) at the age of 56 and caused a great loss to the world specially to our IT domain. He was the main person behind Mac, iPhone, iPod, iPad and many more things.
Those who don’t know who was Steve Jobs (what seriously you don’t know! That’s bad), Steve Jobs was an American computer entrepreneur ,inventor, mentor, graphics evangelist. He is the person behind all innovative work behind Apple (non-edible). He was one of the founding member and CEO of Apple Inc. He was the CEO of Pixar Animation studios until its acquisition by Walt Disney Company. But, after that he became the member of the board of the directors of Disney in 2006. He was known for his movie Toy Story too!. He was the executive producer of that movie.
Steven Paul Jobs (Yes it’s him only, Steve Jobs) was born on 24th February 1955 and died on 5th October, 2011. He founded Apple with his some team mates in 1970s and served as CEO of that company till 1986 when he resigned from that company due to some disputes with the board of the directors members. But in his absence the company’s stock went down to 68 percent, pushing Apple to the stage of bankruptcy.
Later he found NeXT computers which was used by Tim burners lee and became the first server of www. Later in 1996 Apple bought NeXT and again he became the CEO of Apple, what an entry Steve; Well Done!!!
In 1986 only he acquired the computer graphics division of Lucas Film ltd and names as Pixar Animation Studios. Wall-e, Toy story series, Finding the Nemo, The incredible, Cars series, Ratatouille are few hit movies under Pixar banner.
Jobs is listed as either primary inventor or co-inventor in 338 US patents or patent applications related to a range of technologies from actual computer and portable devices to user interfaces ,speakers, keyboards, power adapters etc. Thanks Steve for showing us mouse, graphics user Interface multimedia etc , otherwise we would be dangling with command interface till date . 😉
I must say products under Apple’s banner (or rather say under your supervision) are too good to applaud. Be its iPhone, iPod or iPad you became the trendsetter time to time. I saw all movies under your Pixar banner. Thanks to you for finding Pixar, else I would never see animated movies with much interest. Wall-e was damn technical Steve and Toy Story was out of my imagination (I am not comparing, I can’t at all) 😀

He and his friend launched Apple in 1976. Their first project, the Apple I, was just an assembled circuit board. Anyone who bought it had to add the case and keyboard. But it was enough for Jobs to convince Mike Markkula, a semi-retired Intel engineer and product marketing manager, that personal computing was the future. Markkula invested $250,000 in the fledgling enterprise.
The Apple I begat the Apple II in 1977. It was the first successful mass-market computer, and easy to use, too. That would become a hallmark of Apple under Jobs.
The Apple II had a huge impact on the tech business, but cheaper alternatives, like the Commodore 64 and the VIC-20, quickly eroded Apple’s market share. IBM’s open PC platform eventually won out over Apple’s closed approach, and the die was cast. The PC dominated the market.
Still, Apple was by any measure a success. By the time Jobs was 25 in 1980, he was worth more than $100 million. Not that it mattered to him.
“It wasn’t that important because I never did it for the money,” he once said.
Apple once again shook up the industry with the Macintosh, announced in 1984 with a now-iconic Super Bowl ad challenging IBM. “It was a very public failure, and I even thought about running away from the Valley,” he admitted in a 2005 speech.
Apple’s incredible string of hits started with the iMac and continued with iTunes and the iPod in 2001, the iPhone in 2007 and 2010’s iPad. There were some misses along the way – Mobile Me and Apple TV –made Apple one of the biggest companies in the world.

The Great Mind Challenge (TGMC) is a programming contest by IBM, India to help engineering students in testing their skills. Student Engineers interested to join software industry can get lot of exposure from this.
